Directories consultancy

Clients' objectives typically include achieving clarity, among partners and others involved, on research methodology and best practice; improving consistency in terms of approaching submissions and other elements of the research process; achieving outcomes more efficiently; and improving results, by reducing perception gaps and attaining due recognition for particular practice strengths.

Services provided to address these objectives include:

  • reviewing and reporting back on firms' established internal processes and past submissions;
  • holding presentation and Q&A sessions covering the do's and don't's of the research process, and suggested strategy;
  • providing input on and reworking draft submissions, to ensure that practices are being showcased to best effect;
  • preparing first-draft submissions; and
  • preparing partners for research interviews.

Services are focused on the Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners guides, across their various geographic editions. Clients have included practices in continental Europe and Asia as well as law firms of all sizes in the UK.

Other services

We are also available to undertake work in areas unrelated to the directories process. Our work in the past year has included carrying out a substantial survey regarding international law firm referrals, for a leading London practice.
